Norman Crawford (1927-2013) was saved on Friday 1st April 1938. 75 years later, at the age of 86, in the year he went home to heaven, he rose to his feet in the Gospel Hall in Jackson, Michigan, USA (his home town) and told the story of his conversion. It’s clear from this recording that the passing decades had not dimmed the memory of that moment, nor had they lessened the joy he knew in His Saviour and the finished work done at Calvary on his behalf. As well as being an evangelist and Bible teacher, Mr Crawford authored the book Gathering Unto His Name and was for many years the editor of the Truth and Tidings magazine: but he never strayed far from the profound joy of that first moment when he understood “Christ died for me”.
