2020 is the 20th anniversary year of a much blessed series of gospel meetings in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, with Canadian evangelists Murray McCandless and Peter Orasuk. The meetings commenced on Sunday 23rd January 2000 and were expected to run for perhaps 6-8 weeks. In the end, due to the interest and the ongoing blessing, the meetings kept being extended “one more week” and didn’t eventually finish until May. Every night for 19 weeks, including Saturdays, the gospel was preached, first in Coleraine Gospel Hall and then moving to the Milburn Community Centre to make room for larger crowds. When, for a 3-week period, the Community Centre was not available, a Gospel Tent was temporarily pitched on the work premises of Sydney B Scott & Sons to keep the meetings going until they could reconvene in the Centre. The series of meetings proved to be a memorable season of blessing in which a large number of people were saved. 14 messages from this series will be uploaded here in the prayerful hope that God will be pleased to use these recordings to bring blessing to fresh hearers. For the first few weeks, Murray McCandless preached on his own (before being joined by Peter). Here, on the second Sunday of the meetings, 30th January 2000, he preaches on “the prodigal son” from Luke 15.
