What to Expect

A Warm Welcome

Whatever day you come, be assured of a warm welcome!

Our gatherings feature Scripture readings, prayers, acapella congregational singing from hymn books, and the preaching of the Word of God. Feel free to sample some preaching or singing online.

For our current “Covid limited” schedule see here:

Shown below was our normal schedule pre-Covid-19:

@ 10.30am-12.00noon – The “Breaking of Bread”
The New Testament model is for believers to break bread each Sunday “in remembrance of Me” (Acts 20:7, 1 Cor 11:23-26). These 90 minutes are for worship, giving thanks and congregational singing to the Lord (without prearrangement). The Word of God will be read and expounded at some point during the gathering, and members will also partake of the bread and wine. If you have children please be ready to have them sit with you – we don’t run a concurrent kids event…but we do have Sunday School a bit later (see below).

Coffee and refreshments are served in the kitchen from 12:00noon to 12.45pm.

@ 12.45-1.45pm – Sunday School
Sunday School takes place in the main auditorium. All ages, from 3 upwards, are catered for in activities that include singing, Bible verse memorisation, quizzes and Bible stories. (During term time we also have a meeting for children on Tuesday evenings from 6.30-7.30pm. In addition there’s a Friday evening monthly event for teenagers, called ‘Truthseekers’). See our youth page for more details.

@ 1.00-1.45pm – Bible Class
Bible Class is held in the minor Hall concurrent with Sunday School. If you appreciate systematic Bible teaching you will enjoy our Bible Class! Each week we present doctrinally themed messages from the Bible to edify and encourage Christians. Check the syllabus on the events page. (Tip: bring your Bible and a notebook!)

@ 6.30-7.30pm – Gospel preaching
Held in the main Hall, an evangelistic message is preached – highlighting the Bible’s call to repent and personally receive Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord. Bring your family and friends to hear the gospel! (Be assured: no collections or appeals for money).

@ 8.00-9.30pm – ESL Class
A weekly class where anyone wanting to improve their English is welcome (ESL stands for “English Second Language”). We study the English language for an hour, enjoy coffee and snacks, and close by learning a Bible verse and the message it contains. If you are interested in joining this group, please text James on 07493 103314.

@ 7.30-9.00pm Prayer & Bible Study
A meeting of two halves – first prayer, then systematic Bible study/teaching. Bible studies are introduced by an overview of the topic or chapter, followed by a detailed discussion. Bible teaching takes the form of exposition of a Bible chapter or topic. Please check this week for details.

Aside from these weekly meetings, special series of meetings and conferences are held frequently. Details here.
